- Positive emotions: the main ingredient to happiness
Everyone deserves to be happy. Everyone is worthy of a life they are excited about.
I think the state of “being happy” is a gigantic equation of all the choices you make. It’s the results of the thoughts, the words, the choices, the actions and most importantly the emotions you go through every day. Once you understand that, you are more capable of anything.
All of you reading these words today, pleaseeee accept the responsibility for your own happiness. In fact, trust yourself, trust your people, trust your goals and most certainly trust the timing of your life. As the most cliché of all time: no one’s perfect!
After a long journey of introspection, thinking and reading, which I indulge myself in, here is the great conclusion I came with: happiness is not the absence of problems, it’s your ability to deal with them through emotion management, goal achievements, self-esteem and positive thinking.
Because you know what?
We fall, we break, we fail,
but then,
We rise, we heal and we overcome.
Don’t ever let others make you forget that. Since depression is a mood disorder where recognized mostly as a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest, you must also know that happiness is a state of mind, an emotional state and a mental state also. You might also like to read the positive psychology blog written by the glorious Courtney Ackerman, a researcher of human psychology and well-being. In one of the articles I find greatly interesting, she says:
“Among the many health benefits of positive emotions is a reduction in stress and a boost to general well-being. Positive emotions can actually act as a buffer between you and stressful events in your life, allowing you to cope more effectively and preserve your mental health (Tugade, Fredrickson, & Barrett, 2004).”

The list of positive emotions that people experience is nearly endless. Yet, they are words most often used by people and I gathered my favourites bellow, which in rough periods of my life, helped me as a good foundation for positive thinking. Throughout my experience with anxiety and depression, I realized more than just the idea that you are responsible for your own mental health and body health. It has also occurred to me that the words you speak and the thoughts you prospect become the house you live in. Which mean, for example, if you think positively, you will tend to become more positive. As previously said in the article Dinner is served! who wants to seat at the table, the body achieves what the mind believes. Knowing that you should all be looking for positive words to use daily. Here are mine:
G R A T I T U D E – It is a feeling of thankfulness, for something specific or simply in general.
H O P E – It’s having optimism and anticipation about a positive future.
S A T I S F A C T I O N – A sense of pleasure and contentment you get from accomplishing something or fulfilling one of your need.
C O N F I D E N C E – It is the emotion involving a strong sense of self-esteem and belief in yourself.
O P T I M I S M – It is positive and hopeful emotion that encourages you to look forward to a bright future.
H A P P I N E S S – It is the feeling of pleasure and contentment in the way things are going; a general sense of enjoyment and enthusiasm for your life.
L O V E – perhaps the strongest of all positive emotions, love is a feeling of deep and enduring affection for someone, along with a willingness to put their needs ahead of your own.
Studies show that sense of humour, affection for people or things, resilience or courage, love, harmony or gratitude are psychological and emotional states that will help you achieve your goals and make you carrier of positive emotions. Hereafter are also some key points I like to repeat myself in moments of doubts:
- No matter how hard it is or it gets, I am going to make it;
- No matter how painful it is now, one day you will look back and realize it made you stronger;
- Better things come if you are patient;
- The best things will come if you don’t give up.
As you are a part of the B0LD community now, get ready to level up mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually, energetically, it is all coming! This only is the first step. Don’t forget that no one is too sensitive. Your heart is always at war with all your emotions. In order to be free, we must all learn to let go. Release the hurt, forgive ourselves, be proud of we become and what we achieve, release the fear and refuse to entertain the old pain. You are not weak, your anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of, it is just a reminder of your full well-being, your need of managing your emotions and states of mind. It also shows your empathy and that your kindness is your strength, better start to own who you are today. you have a beautiful brave soul and a beautiful mind. Be proud of it. So remember this now: Today is your opportunity to built the tomorrow you want!
